Today the world lost a true giant of blues guitar with the passing of Hubert Sumlin.



 
The blues just got less bluesy, or more so, depending on your point of view. I like the picture with him and Howlin' Wolf on this page. Either Sumlin looks tiny or Wolf looks gigantic. Probably a little of both. I thought he was older than 80, though. I know he had a lung removed some years ago.

I was surprised to find he was younger than I'd thought as well.

I think that 30 years of Marlboro filterless are required to sing this properly.

You can even learn the guitar bits from the man himself.


It wouldn't be fair to leave out my favorite Wolf song, Movin'
