Elavd, in the clips of you playing the rockinger, were you using the stock pickups? Also, how would you say they were voiced - i.e. vintage, hot etc. ?

My sunburst Rockinger is all stock. I have not changed a thing on it ;)

The pickups have medium to low output and are certainly vintage voiced...

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Also, do you know if all rockingers have 2 piece bodies, or might they be made of 3 or more parts?

On their site they write that their kits' bodies are 2-piece alder ones.

Mine is a 2-piece (with a perfect bookmatch) but noone can be sure about that for a solid coloured body...

You are right! They changed the descriptions on their website.

Send them an email and ask about it ;)

Here are 3 photos of mine. If you look closely you can see the 2 pieces

I was planning to get one of these for christmas, but when I ordered it transpired that you can only pay by bank transfer. Now, this seems to be a less safe system than using a credit card, so I have hesitated. However, I realy would like to buy this guitar. I was going to order the sunburst, because I like looking at the wood grain, and because my other guitar is a solid colour. However, I was also considering the MIM 60's player strat (it has really excellent specifications - CS69 p'ups and a steel custom 2 point tremolo) and the new highway one (nitro finish and steel tremolo), which have similar prices .

Hey Tinky,

I've been giving some consideration to buying a Rockinger and went to their site to try make a purchase and it's asking for credit card details. I ain't going any further with the transaction coz I don't have the funds yet but it looks like paying by credit card via ssl connection is working fine right now.

Let me know if you buy, would love to hear another opinion :)

Lev, I emailed rockinger and for first payments you must use a bank transfer; if you pay by credit card they will send you an email a few days later saying that you have to use a bank wire.

What??
I bought my Rockinger tele by using credit card (to be more accurate debit card...).

Maybe it's because I live in the UK, but I got a reply from the manager that you must use a bank transfer for first payments of expensive items.

Funny, I actually came across your video on youtube when looking up Rory Gallagher and didn't realise you were here on The Fret until I went back and read this post again from the start.

I also assumed when I saw your video that you were playing some kind of vintage american start - lovely tone. Now I find I can get this for only €500 - GAS strikes again!!! It's so difficult to find good bargains in Europe, rockinger seems like a real gem of a find!

BTW - your band sound great!!!

This summer I met a French guy who came in our studio and jamming around with us. He was playing my strat.

That guy has in his possession 5-6 very expensive and vintage guitars (2 L-5, 1 original 61 strat etc...).

After an hour of playing, he hadn't realised that he was playing a replica and seemed very happy with the playability anf tha overall sound. So I asked him:

-How do you find my Ferden straVocaster??
(look at the decal I have on it: )

The guy looked at the headstock 2-3 times and was like that

Then he told me:
"This guitar feels better than my 61 Strat and the sound is more or less the SAME!!!"

:D

Lev, you can't post that & not post a link to the video!!

The link is all the way back to the first page of this thread. Band is good, strat sounds sweet and all recorded on a camcorder! Excellent Elvad!

My bad! Thanks Hog. Great music Elvad!! I'd be at your next concert in a flash.

By the way, what does Pettish Fish mean?

Pettish Fish doesn't have a special explanation :D

The word "pettish" has as a definition an easily irritated person.

In our case its a fish:
