Silencing the Hum...

Hey everyone, I have a 2004 4003 Ric that produces a noisy hum. It is not a ground issue, it is a shielding issue. I have procured the copper tape for the back of the pickguard, shielded wiring, and the conductive paint for the cavities. As I am new to this process, I am wondering if anyone knows a link or has experience with some good concise instructions, tips, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

There's dozens of potential for hum, not all guitar based... are you positive it's RF/shielding? Have you eliminated all other influences?

I have heard people that swear by the shielding and I've heard others say it's a waste of time.

I have one guitar that has the shielding (the pot area, not pup area) and four that don't - none of them hum.

What causes a non-shielded guitar to hum and why do some unshielded not hum?

Off the top of my head (for the guitar side)

Type and construction of pickups used.
Type of hookup wire used.
Layout of components and cable routing.
Amount and location of any shielding.
Grounding scheme
