OK, it's weird that it's on ESPN, but they have six full tracks from Van Halen's new album "A Different Kind of Truth." I've heard "Tattoo" but not the rest.

My overall impression of the album so far is that when Eddie is playing it's cool.

Update: Having listened to the rest of it, I've come to the conclusion that "Tattoo" is by far the weakest track. Why that was the lead single I have no idea.

Somewhat surprisingly (given my reaction to "Tattoo") I just bought the album at Amazon's MP3 store. Best VH album ever? Hardly. Solid, enjoyable album? You bet. I can't help but think on many of the songs (especially "Blood and Fire") that they really could use Michael Anthony's background vocals.

The debate about the new Album and the line up aside, it's nice to see that EVH seems to have himself together at the moment. I found it difficult to watch some of his live solos from the past decade where his head was obviously messed up and it was reflected in his playing (trying too hard, losing timing and basically just making noise with the whammy bar). But I was plesantly suprised when I saw this solo from the rehearsals for the new tour, he seems very in control of his playing and his tone is really good. Best I've seen him in a long, long time.

I agree Lev. When I saw some pictures of them in concert in Detroit, he looked good, not like Zombie Eddie.
