Am I right in detecting a Mark Knopfler influence there? I liked it.

And the award for cool use of multi-tracking goes to ...

So many different approaches, and all sounds really cool.

Nice to see people taking advantage of Swede's labours, even after the track's been around for a while. Thanks, Swede.

Just like the good old days when the fret.net was young, ah we used to play to backing tracks all the time..

Nice harmonies Spud, sounds great :R

Thanks SS. It was an experiment. It's something I hadn't tried before and I want to keep moving forward so I just had to give it a go. I probably wouldn't have done anything if it weren't for Lachy doing such a great job and bringing the track to my attention.

Here's my take: http://www.box.net/shared/yf2ef55o62

It's funny I deliberately didn't listen to Lachy and Spuds take until I had finished mine. I think both myself and Lachy ended up with a very similar feel. Spud I love the harmonies, was that the M13's harmonizer effect? Sounds awsome!

Really nice Lev. I just double tracked the harmonies. That's what I meant when I said it was something I hadn't tried before. I can sing harmony all day but I have a really hard time plying it on guitar. That was my challenge.

Even more impressive then!

That's a great take. I like when you stay in the bluespentatonic instead of following major pentatonic. Very cool! Extremely good sound. Thanks for sharing.

Nice one Lev! Your clean sound fits the track perfectly!

If anyone missed it, do check out Helliots take on this backer in a earlier thread, love that Gibson ES sound :)

Swede's being typically modest. Mine's ok, but his on the same thread is better. He did something with the minor bit in the middle that is more effective than what I did. And given he also wrote the backer, it's worth giving him a listen and credit.

Ah, what sweet tones, good job spud and lev, and the guys in the other post. Sorry I didn't see the previous post of this BT. I would have posted there to keep them all together, anyway my bad!

As for gear Helliot, I used my 45 yo strat copy and my beloved Vox VT50 on manual settings, and as I normally do I used a medium pick.

I've always loved Knopfler, so not surprised that comes thru a bit Marnold.
