Picked up a Samson G-track condensor mic/USB interface today. Must say I'm pretty jazzed with it. Great, clear response and flexible as all get out. Comes with Cakewalk Sonar LE too :AOK:

My "home studio" is coming together. I have the G-track, my Digitech GNX3000 guitar workstation, and a Yamaha digital Grand - all USB. Behringer HPS3000 headphones (not great, but not bad either), and my boat-anchor IBM Thinkpad (kinda clunky, but does the trick for now). On order is a pair of Samson M5a active studio monitors and I'm thinking of purchasing Acoustica's Beatcraft drum program software (downloaded the trial and was pretty happy with it).

Now all I need is some inspiration to get some writing done :poke:

Nice rig so far !

you may want to eventually add a subwoofer to those 5" monitors.I can almost guarentee they are going to be lacking in bass reproduction.that will really impact in the mixdown/mastering phase.
or go with atleast 8" if at all possible

I have beatchraft on my computer , I really like it. It can do quite a bit once you start digging into it!

Thanks Andy! I have one of these and a pair of these kicking around - maybe that will help with the bottom end? ;)

Seriously though, a sub would be a good idea down the road. The rig is primarily for getting some rough song demos together, and for just tinkering on my own to learn more about the recording process (always wanted to be a producer/engineer when I grew up :AOK: ).
