Got it into my head to do a comparision of the various acoustics in the gaggle. First posted this on the Washie site and thought a few here might be interested.

Each guitar is recorded the exact same way. I did not spend any time going over mistakes, string squeeks and the like.

The Washburn is a spruce and lam ash dread. B Band, all settings in the middle.

Guild is a mid 70's D35NT Solid spruce and mahogany.

Martin is a solid spruce top, lam rosewood dread.

Dean is a "00" size (Martin knockoff) solid spruce and rosewood.

Some strumming, first position chords. Then a couple of finger picking riffs.

OF course, one of the great things about the guitar - same basic instrument, so many different voices and tones! OF course, this fact accounts for much of the affliction of GAS - that and the endless beautiful and alluring woods, designs and decorative details..... I was going to try to make a choice of 'best picker' and 'best strummer' , but it's hard to do!

Good job there Evenkeel, always fun to compare different guitars sound & tone..

I ve been surprised by the Washburn..

Thanks to you ..:bravo:
