Oh man, I love those killer tones. The highs punctuated by the lows, esp. on the bridge slay me. I like how you can see the guitar reflected in the panel of the amph too. I like that neck pup sound more than I expected too. I guess I thought the neck pup was supposed to be the weak link for teles, but I thought that sounded good. My second favorite after the bridge. :AOK:

Really nice! Thanks for the vids! :D :bravo:

Oh ya... clips sound great Tone! Now all you've got to do is find a way to get the amp, the guitar, and the Operator all in the same shot :D
Cheers

LOL, at least you could see the guitar and his hand reflected off of the amph. :rotflmao:

David, I like the new PNW Indian art in your avatar! I'll go mention it in the avatar thread so we don't dirty up this thread.

I thought you already got yours already?

It is hard to tell with the likes of him. He had that pick of a CV 50s strat in his avatar a week or so ago too, and who knows why that was. :rotflmao: I would try to investigate in a coupla weeks when I go visit, but he has so many freeking guitars, I could miss one or two in the pile. :thwap: ;)

I have been compared to this guy before...

Awesome clips T2tb! :)

Thanks Calle! The guitar came with a set of D'Addario 9s on it and I was going to switch them out to 10s but I'm liking how they sound and play with the 9s. I've been playing it everyday since I got it and the strings are still resilient and bouncy and bright and the pine body on the guitar just resonates so well even with the lighter strings. I'm gonna stick with 9s on this baby for awhile.

Yeah 9´s work on teles, but strats imho needs at least 10-46 to sound really good.

Don't laugh, but I found out that 9.5's are fitting best on my tele and also on my Yamaha strat. 9's are to thin for me and 10's don't bend so well. But I use 10's on my Les Paul Copy that has a shorter scale.

I never tried 9,5´s but I might have to try a set of those... any special brand that you recommend?

I only use 9.5 D'Addarios exclusivley. They are by far the longest lasting, and least susceptable to corrosion and rust than any strings I have tried.
I have them on everything including my LPs and Semi hollow bodies.
They sound really good on my CV50s Strat.

I second this: D'Addario EXL 120+ are preferrerd by me to. They go 0095 - 0115 - 016 - 024 - 034 - 044.

Additon: Ordered my Squier Classic Vibe 50's Stratocaster today.

As it is in stock, I hope for delivery on Tuesday :rotflmao:

Classic Vibe

I looked at a CV '50 in the local music store and they had it on a stand up front by the register; however, the sales dudes didn't seem to know what they had.

I mentioned that it is a much enjoyed strat by many on the internet, favored by some over the MIM standard in many regards.

No comment from the sales guys other than, yeah we sold a few already.

They probably don't want the word broadcasted too loudly because they are a fender dealer and have a LARGE wall packed with "expensive" fenders, not MIM standards.

I can only imagine what they tell the customers. They are selling them for 299 though but I'm sure they are pushing for the expensive fenders and other expensive guitars they carry if they can.

To me it looked great. I didn't play it because I was in a hurry but I sure wanted to find out what all the great comments were about.

Next time I'm going to play it.

This is just another example of how forums like this help us average guys out because I'm sure the salesmen are not going to give you the same level of gassification that we give each other. They'll tell you about it, maybe, maybe not. They might make more profit off selling the cheaper Squires. Plus I just don't think they know how really good some of the guitars are because they play so many and tend to like certain expensive ones that they have in their own collections, modded and otherwise.

Who else is getting one?

I'm seriously gassing for the CV tele pinecaster.

I said, "thanks, but no thanks for those GAS inducing clips from Tone".

True

Quote from Spud:

"And you'd better get one now before they change the factory to one of lesser quality."

This is actually more possible than many may think because "time waits for no one" (RS) and few know better than these big companies that are operating in a climate of incredible competition that you wouldn't believe. Just staying in business is the main priority. They have new plans already off the drawing board. They DON'T stand still and rest on their product line. Much to our advantage.

They would switch that operation to another plant without even missing more than a few beats. Quick, if they decided that's what needed to happen.

Who knows, however, how this economic deal is going to affect these companies seemingly far removed from the disaster scene.

Argh, my internet store had problems with my credit card. They says it's fixed now and they will ship it tomorrow. But who knows...

I want to have it now.

Edit: It's on the way now. I think it will arrive tomorrow. :D
