A beginner could use the ST-200 to learn the notes on the fretboard or the notes in a scale or mode as well as to quickly check intonation up & down the fretboard.

Pretty nifty.

The one on the right's pretty good. The Peterson looks a bit fussy to read on stage. Interesting test.
