I did a neck swap with two of my Reverends...I wanted my Club King 290 (my favorite) to have a maple fretboard--I'm a maple fretboard freak. So I did the switcheroo thing last night!

For some reason, the Buckshot barely changed at all with the rosewood fretboard...a little bit warmer, though. But the big change, interestingly, came from the main victim of this experiment--the Club King 290.

A Club King 290 with a maple fretboard is almost another guitar entirely. It's way more vicious, less mellow than one with the rosewood board. Growls like a mad dog. And has a more cutting sound. I love it!

No wonder Unknown Hinson has one like that too.

:Dude:

Another thing is, I think the CK 290 in vntage burst looks better with the maple neck (think Charger 290), and the cream Buckshot with the rosewood board looks better than maple.

Here's some pics:

Gotta agree they look sweet with the swap you made. Very complimentary I must say
