Hi Guys. My name is Dave and I hail from The Hill-billy state of "West by God Virginia"

Had guitars since I was 12, (seems like a hundred years ago sometimes,)
Now I'm 52, but am still an amature. Got away from it for 12 years while I was in the service, and forgot so much because of that.

Always learning.

Greeting señor Dave... i see that your interested in modding the Crate V5 amp, you'll find a couple guys who have done it already... and a few others that are great at modding other amps (from what i read).
I'm sure everybody here will help you in anything we can... welcome.

Thanx for the warm welcome. I am finding a lot of good useful info here. As to modding, I love to tinker with things. Started building Heath-Kits and such since I was about 9 or 10. Never had any formal training in electronics, but i seem to get by.

Am presently working on a couple of low power solid state amps to use for practice and such:

6W rms @ 4ohm on 16v DC@2A module
10W rms @ 4ohm on 18v DC @2A module
1W rms @ 4-8ohm on 12v DC @ 300mA (will tolerate up to 20v, so will run this off of 2 9v batt in series or 8 AA)
100W rms @ 4ohm 30v DC @ 4A module

Have the modules built and will start threads after i get a little farther along and decide about cabs and speakers and such. Will have pics.
