The Mechanics of Hammer ons and Pull offs

I was going to cover something else this week but I've gotten a ton of questions about legato playing this week so I figured I would answer them in my blog.

Also, Adam Lopez (known here as adlo76) is also doing video lessons on my site now...he did a few batch of lesson on Honky Tonk Rhythm Guitar that are going into the free section as something of a teaser for his lesson modules in our online school but since they're free I figured I'd share them here, too!

That is another good one for drilling basic skills, and I like how you matched it up with the timing exercise.

I like the Lopez honky tonk lesson too. That technique, especially with the open ringing strings, makes me think of Happy Traum.

I dig that Adam is teaching this stuff in particular. It's amazing how hard something so simple can be sometimes.

+1 While my hammer-ons and pull-off's aren't at the master level, I'm at least comfortable with them. The most useful part of the lesson will be the timing exercise using all 4 fingers. :AOK

I like the ****** tonk lesson because it bolsteres what I'm already doing with open E and E shaped chords/bar chords. The small details (pick attack, muting) Adam brings up actually helped the most.
