Finally a step in the right direction has been accomplished.

Last night I dragged my Peavey Envoy 110 SS amp to our weekly session. I went from the “preamp out” to the PA system’s low impedance input. I disconnected the amp’s speaker so I could only hear the PA’s speakers. My tone was just what I have been looking for. I could not ask for a better sounding guitar tone. I felt good playing all night long. I normally do not use the amp because of the weight factor and that I must climb a very high set of stairs every week.

This leaves me with the question on why my Digitech RP 200 and V-Amp2 digital effects units sound so horrible through the same system? I have read both manuals and nether unit has a preamp only setup. This is confusing??? Perhaps I need to purchase a preamp only type unit … if they make them. I am not too sure on what I need to look for.

Until I figure this out, I guess I will be carrying my Peavey amp and pedals with me every week.

I had a v_amp2 once and all i can say is it really only got the best tone through just a combo speaker i also had problems with the pa system
