Triads in Blues?

To clarify, a Triad is a group of 3 notes that consist of the 1-3-5 from the scale that fits the chord. So, it's the most basic form of a chord. However, you can also play these 3 notes in any order, one by one. That's what I'm doing. So Triads are a tool for both comping AND playing lead.

Now when I think about, I realize I never learned triads when I was into shredding and metal as a teenager. I think it is because most shredders do not use triads this way, probably because they prefer running scale shapes instead (the more notes the better?). It was only when I got in to jazz and theory that I started learning about triads. Now, I use them all the time. They are harder to shred with too with one note per string, since the notes are farther apart than 3 note scale patterns. Which fits me perfectly, since I suck as shredding! Haha

I realize shredders do use them, either as sweeps or as a "tweedly" with the 3 notes on 2 strings.
