when you have a tube amp without a standby switch, how do you let the tubes warm up before you start playing?

i guess youd probably turn it on for 20 seconds ish before you plug the cable into the amplifier input jack?

On my Classic 30, I turn it on and let it warm up for 10-15 minutes. I do wish it had a standby, though. There is a distinct pop when I shut it down, even with all controls at zero.

I believe that amps that have el-84 power tubes don't need standby switches because these tube just naturally take a while to warm up w/o the switch. You can play when they are warmed up.
