So I finally got it together to do a new lesson...this is the first in a small series on sweep picking:

I've also added a guest instructor to my forum...Roger Sullivan (r0g3r to most of you) is contributing some pretty serious shred lessons at http://markweinguitarlessons.com/forum/index.php?board=26.0

Have fun!

Hello Yngwie, aaahhhhhmmmmmm Mark,

You have put up a great lesson again. Yeah the sweeps, they are tricky beasts. Once a player feels kind of safe with sweeping they tend to switch gears into turbo and end in sloppy playing land...ebough "sweep victims" to be whitnessed on youtube ;-)

It's important to keep patience.

Mark, there's only one thing I'd suggest - it might be better for beginners if you changed the angle of the camera for the explanation of the right hand work. If you film your right hand from the other side (seen from your seat left side) it might be easier to understand for a beginner.

Thanks!

Its not a technique I use all the time...I have a hard time making it sound musical although I caught myself sweep on a ZZ Top song from last month:

Check it out from about 1:26 :D

I'm going to try and incorporate your suggestion in next weeks lesson...:AOK:
