The lovely and talented future Mrs. FrankenFretter once dropped her cell in the bathtub. Yes, it was full of water. How this came about, I still don't quite understand, but the point is that she took the back off the phone, removed the battery and put it on the heat vent. After about 20 minutes, she reassembled the phone, and it worked fine. This was fortunate, since her phone insurance didn't cover water damage. :p

Dry it off as best as possible and take the battery out and put it in a bag of rice for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight. If the electronics haven't already been shot, this will work.

Silica gel is good too if you can get it.

One day while sitting by my computer, I heard my cell phone ringing off in the distance. Where did I leave it? Mmm. Suddenly I remembered it was in the bathroom. Not only did I leave it in the bathroom but I left it on top of the tank! And as I ran to the ringing phone I somehow knew what was about to happen ~
Since I had it set on ring and vibrate, every time it rang it vibrated a little closer to the edge. I reached the doorway just in time to witness the phone plunge in to
the bowl. I couldn't help but laugh out loud as it continued to ring and vibrate a few times, each time wriggling like a little wounded fish ~
Surprisingly, it lived
