I'm still trying to get a decent Eric Johnson sound with what I have here!

I don't know any of his songs, but I love his tone!

Is it getting any better? Here is a video!

Could be the videocam mic but it doesnt sound too much like EJ tones to me, why not aim at getting your own sound instead of emulating someone else?

But then again I´m pretty much a guitar>drive>amp guy anyway...

Sound like you're in the ballpark, but I'm not a huge EJ guy, so I'm probably not the best judge. I will say this, that is one massively complicated signal path. You really don't need all that to get EJ's sound.

I assume you've seen this?

Strat->Tube Driver->Echoplex->Slightly overdriven Marshall (plate reverb in recording)

Although I have to say that I liked the Strat->Marshall tone he got at the beginning better than anything else.

Thanks for your response! :)

When I split up the signal path 3 ways, it really cuts down on noise, and tone degradation. When I would run all of the pedals and effects in a straignt line it sounds pretty bad.

I have always loved the Eric Johnson tone. I guess it's just a challange for me to try to get other guy's tones, especially when I play live.
