Strum started a thread on guitars that haven't gotten your attention. I'm curious to see which guitar/model you're GASing for next. I'd like to say my collection is almost complete (yeah, right), as I've got a decent Strat copy, a humbucker model, a P90 model and a decent acoustic. I've even got a cheap bass that's fun to knock around with. The only one I don't have yet is a semi-acoustic, like a 335 or similar. That style is what I'm probably going to shoot for next. 'Course, I've got figure out 2 things: 1) how to pay for it and 2) how to get it by the wife. Oh well, it never hurts to dream...

Boy, there are a few, but I have no plans to buy any at the moment. However, if I did:

I'd love a Guild 12 Jumbo. But.... I'm a fairly small guy and every time I play a jumbo I feel overwhelmed.

A Martin 000 would also be a nice addition to the herd.

My next guitar probably won't be a guitar at all. It will most likely be a cheap bass, as overly detailed in this thread. To be totally honest, while there are plenty of guitars that I think are cool, there hasn't been one in a long time that I've gotten serious GAS over. Obviously I love the looks of a Jackson Rhoads, but I also know I'll never be able to justify owning one. I'm OK with that.

The only one I've really come close to GAS on recently is a Reverend Volcano in honey. That's partially because I like Vs and partially because a Reverend ought to have a Reverend. The thing is that if I got another guitar, I know I'd have to get rid of one. I don't want to get rid of my Floyd now that I've modded it and because of the trem itself. I like my Fender too much to part with it. Plus I've never actually played a Volcano so I have no idea whether I'd even like it.

For as much as I've talked about fuzz pedals, basses, and tube ampfs, the reality is that my GAS levels are almost astonishingly low right now.

In about 4 hours.

I had a chance 2 weeks ago to actually buy this guitar for the 2nd time:

SA-12Closecsm.jpg

SA-12Headcsm.jpg

Godin/Seagull came out with it as a Seagull SA12 (and its 6-string sister SA6) at Winter NAMM 2004, and finally made up their mind it was too 'un-Seagull' and more Godin, so they disco'd it. Now it's the Godin A12 going for about $200 more than this 'prototype' version and Godin now has the A6 Ultra piezo bridge, humbucker neck, stereo outs), but I'd gotten this one 2nd hand, then traded it in towards an EllifIcanRemember WTF, and it came back in to the same store. They were willing to let me have it for less than I got for it on the trade-back, but I just couldn't aford to pull the trigger. Somebody else scooped it up last week...and paid about $100 more than I would have.

I hope I'm in a position to grab it if it comes back again, because it's a terrific plug n' play semi-acoustic 12. Solid Cedar top, chambered maple body, great slim neck. Plays like an electric. Great acoustic sound with Godin's LR Baggs preamp.

I'm thinking a Tele copy will be next -- probably for Christmas! Just not sure which one.

I knew it - I was going to post something earlier today asking if the avatar was a preview.
I have been accusing him for weeks, since I first saw the avatar and he has been, well if not denying it directly, evasive at least. Until yesterday. Dog! :rotflmao:

Alembic Skylark. I was trying to hide it but I am a Deadhead.
DET_L_cocoboloL.jpg

I had the opportunity to buy one of these when they first came out for $2k brand new. It seemed like a lot of money at the time but I can't find a used one that cheap now. I must have an Alembic.

Im thinking my next guitar will be another Telecaster, my walnut Standard is okay but it needs work to get it to where Id like it to be...so Im thinking a Squier Classic Vibe or a Fender Baja.
The Baja has a V-neck, different switching options and better pickups...but the Classic Vibe has a pine body and is less than half price! :thwap:

Id also like a Morgan Monroe MV-01

I dont really need another Strat...but I REALLY want a Jimmie Vaughan!!!(its still highly likely)

If you are looking telecasters, in addition to the CV which looks great, check out the G&L ASATs. They are way cool in my opinion.

I'd like a Gordon Smith Gypsy semi-solid single cut in honey burst. Or a nice 12 string acoustic.

Neither will be happening anytime soon due to the GAS crunch but the GS is vaguely pencilled in for my 50th Birthday (only 7 years to go!)

I did hear about a report from AAA that says gas prices are higher in Idaho and not coming down as much as the rest of the country. (Really! :-))

That is a beautiful guitar,I could not play something like that because I would be afraid of scratching ect..Me I am G.A.S.in for one of those Hag Vikings now(thanks SVL/Spud)I am trying to find one to check out the neck,I'm on that quest to find that neck that well fits.Sumi:D:rockon:

OMG! As many of you know I have a few guitars. Many of them are Strats. This new Classic Vibe is not only just a great guitar but it puts just about everything in my 'Strat" category to shame. The figuring on the fretboard alone is amazing not to mention the tones are as authentic as any Stray I've ever played. The neck is a little wider than I had heard about but I have no problem with that. My chords and single note bends will just have a little more room to mojotate.

The action is pretty low without serious buzz. Sometimes hitting hard like I often tend to do with a Strat can bring out some rattle on the E and A strings but every bend on E, B, and G string doesn't fret out anywhere. It's well set up. The frets are smoothly polished with no drag.

The in between positions on the toggle switch are hum cancelling. That's great since I love to always take a Strat to a gig at least I can get it quiet when I need to.

This guitar really reminds me of when I was a kid and would check out Strats in the music stores. It has some serious vibe and good looks going for it.

It should be here tomorrow....and I'm stoked!

Sweeeeeeet!!! :AOK:

Oddly, I don't have a next planned.

I don't have as many as Spud but still way more than I really need. I may even sell one.

I pretty much stopped looking for anything in particular quite awhile ago. I have a long mental list of "guitars of interest," and just keep an eye peeled for whatever best deals, if any, might be about when I have some free cash.

No, no, Rickie stays. Maybe Pearl, the cheapie P-90 Frankenstrat. Since I have 4 other P-90 guitars and I haven't played her enough to bond with her yet, for the time being I could manage the sale.

We have a church mini-ski trip at the end of the year whose downpayment is coming due, plus Scout re-up fees, so I'm kinda tapped out.

No guitars on my horizon. I want to improve on the equipment I already got (just one guitar, one amp). So in my list:

- Bigsby B5 tremolo with Vibramate baseplate
- Hellatone speaker for my amp
- Some sort of delay with tap tempo
- Maybe an RC Booster pedal
- Play the darned thing!
