when was the last concert you've been to?

mine was in november seeing my friend's band final fall, and the local bands solidarity, and one man's opinon. It was during the afternoon at school and we were all (the rockers at least) really pissed that we had to sit down, so me and a couple guys decided to defy it, we almost got suspended for it, but it was worth it!

I saw the Boss here in Albany on Nov. 15. Amazing performer, great songwriter, and man, what a band!!! :rockon:

Believe you me, I get the same thing all the time since I'm a pastor. When they see me at the grocery store it's as if they're saying, "You mean to say that Pastor Arnold needs to eat too?!?" Maybe they assume I wake up and there's manna all over my carpeting or something. One of the kids in our pre-school called me Jesus the other day. I thanked him for the compliment, but said I'm just me.

Back on topic (cue Porkins voice, "Stay on topic!") my last concert was the first in many moons. In November I saw Joe Bonamassa and Crosby Loggins at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay. Loggins was surprisingly good and his dear old dad came out for a couple of tunes. Joe blew my socks into the stratosphere. I like his albums, but none of the recordings I've heard so far have captured his live energy. I'll be paying attention for the next time he comes around here.

I remember as a kid seeing teachers and other adult authority figures in public places and being surprised to find out they had lives outside of the context of my own. It's like Ralph Wiggum's homage to Principal Skinner, "Prinicipal Skinner is an old man who lives at the school." I have a friend who is a teacher who often wonders whether or not he is running into the parents of his middle-school students when we go to shows, and another who is a college professor who often runs into his own students at shows ["oh my god, you're like a real person" is how I often describe the looks he gets].

The smart ones will either run or know ahead of time that they will have to feed, clothe and house you. Hopefully there are still some "babes" that will come around if you wear that shirt.
