Schecter C1 E/A
I got a great deal on a new Schecter semi hollow hybrid a few months ago. It looks like a C1 but is semi hollow and has two buckers that I replaced with nickel plated Seymour Duncans, '59 in neck and JB in bridge, plus it has piezo electric pups in the bridge graphtec saddles.
Awesome swamp ash top and thick mahogany bottom beautiful binding and a super high quality looking guitar; like a really nice looking Gibson or something really high quality. It also sounds incredible even with the stock duncan designed pups it was awesome; plus it's stereo, you can plug it into two amps at once - a guitar amp and an acoustic amp or PA for optimum unbelievable tone when blending the acoustic and bucker pups.
You can probably still find one at a GC if you have them search. I think they were about eight hundred.
I have an awesome sounding great guitar that is real special but wasn't too expensive but just "made it" for me: an Ibanez, never thought I'd get one, Artcore AS73 trans cherry that sounds awesome. I mean really nice. To me it sounded better than the Dot, Sheraton which I love, or the Casino. Every guitar is different sounding, even the same models. I always like to play them and pick the one I like best regardless of price or brand if it's within my budget. But I buy off the net sites too and have had great success.
You might like to try to find and check out one of those Schecters like I have. You will be really surprised I would guess. They don't look like 335's though.
Hope this give you some more ideas,
Duffy
