Work setup, who has got one!

Here is mine, a pic of each of my guitars, next to the Korg AX-1G, next to my son's old Fullerton strat pack amph that he abandoned once he got the Vypyr.

And the old iMac with the Bose speakers is there too.

If you look at the ground closely in the Vik photo, you can see the Griffin converter cable that I can plug either into the guitar, or into the headphone out of the amph, if I want to record something at work, or just mess with garageband.

I tend to keep one of my guitars there all week long, hoping to squeeze in some practice time. Happens less than I think it will but with the new setup (I just did this after Christmas) I hope I can use my time a bit better and at least practice a few licks, scales or whatever on a break now and then.

Not me, I work outdoors, it'd get cold, hot, dirty, wet, etc, etc.
I bet you have no trouble finding that green pick when you drop it, tho.

I work at my home office when I'm not traveling to see a customer. My home office doubles as my home studio also.

Every now and then I pull out one of my guitars at lunch time and practice a little, but I don't do that as often as I'd like.

One of the coolest work setups I've ever seen was when I once visited Pandora.com's headquarters. They have a ton of musicians who work there. They had a complete stage with drums, bass, guitar amps, vocal mics, and a small PA. They told us that they have jam sessions at lunch time there.

My set up is paid for and works nicely, but I would love to integrate either a small Vypyr or DA-5 or a Blackheart head/cab combo someday to get a better sound than this little "Fully" amph will do.

Any other working stiffs out there? Certainly not to exclude you homeoffice types (let's see 'em) I want to hear from someone who has a business office not in the home and has some sort of rig set up there too. ancake:

I've got a decent work setup. I keep a Washburn House of Blues Strat copy and my Crate GX1200-H head and 4x12 cabinet in my office. I don't have room at the house for the half-stack, so I keep it here. I don't usually play until after work. Don't want "complaints".

I'm currently unemployed, so the house is where my setup resides.

However, I had a job once where I had my full MIDI / Marshall half stack set up in my office, with the Charvel as the main guitar.

Lunch times were awesome. Gave some guitar lessons to the owner of the company, too.

There are very few problems in this ol' world where a properly cranked half stack isn't a suitable solution. :dude:

Does a work set-up include school? If that's the case, then, well - we've got it all. . . ICMP is endorsed by Music Man, Yamaha, Gibson, Peavey, and Zildjian - I think that should cover the lot

Oddly though, I don't usually have an amp set-up to play, even though I'm pretty much surrounded by them in my office.

Dang man! Your office is almost a junky as mine! I'll get some pics of it later (someone has my camera right now). But you've definitely got a good looking collection there! :AOK:

thats how it is at Gibson , they even have amps and guitars in the breakroom.!

Brian, I love seeing pics of your office. First, you have a great private place there where you can set up as you want. Second, I love seeing someone's office that is messier than mine. Kind of like having a speeder pass you that is going faster than you are.

I am making my work space neater, but it is not natural for me.

I don't have pictures but as I'm the boss where I work I had my bass guitar and 100 watt amp at work along with my lap steel and I would bring my main guitar several times a week.

I sold my bass and amp recently so I'm stuck with my lap steel and main guitar at work.

Thanks for the comments kids, it is a huge mess, Mrs. K is disgusted when she drops by. Thank goodness I don't have clients to the office. Although we do have a board room I could meet them in.

I am keen to see Ron's place that's even messier than mine!

Right now I actually have MORE stuff in the office than in those pics. In the bottom pic where you can see the open-back 2x12 cab with a 4x12 behind it, there's now a SECOND halfstack sitting. At the last Crash Pad practice, I went to the loo right before my other guitarist and bassist left, went out and said bye, thinking they'd outloaded already.

Walked back into thre library (where we actually play), and I'll be darned if the buggers didn't just leave the other guitarist's halfstack in there! It's nice to be trusted I suppose, but I roll all my gear out of the library when practice is over so as to not be a burden on my colleagues who would otherwise have to step over and around my gear. So that meant one more amp to be moved.

Funny thing is, in the sideband I'm in with a couple coworkers, the other two guys DO leave their stuff in the library all set up. There's usually a full drum kit, PA, the other guitarist's (from the HotHeads, not Crash Pad) amp, and a bass cab on "permanent loan" to the drummer.

Here's some shots of the library with my halfstack in for a Hoyt & the HotHeads practice. We were sorta experimenting with PA cab placement. The sweet old Ampeg Gemini II 1x15 is Hoyt's.
