Occasionally, GarageBand software will be referenced in a post, so I figured I'd start a thread to hear and learn what some of you have been able to do with it.
I tinker around with a very basic version that was pre-loaded. I don't have a "proper" recording setup. I just plug a small mic into a cheap iMic USB gizmo.
It's really just for fun.

So far, I found the EQ, compression settings, bass boost functions etc to be among the most helpful tweaking tools.

Please share some clips of your GB projects, and let's compare notes.

Here's a quickie, using some of the different loops. I mic'd my 15watt amp, playing at bedroom levels for the clean and crunchy guitars.

It sounds really great, a nice tone, great playing and a good groovy number ! Too bad it's so short :thumbsup

@Jipes:
Can't open your file. Might be an administration issue in my office...

@Radioboy:
That sound pretty darn cool. I like the room you put on the recording, it makes it very lively. The drums could sound a little more "human", I think there's a function for that in the pianoroll. Try to make use of it and also vary the velocity on the drums.

Garageband is great. I can only repeat myself. Had I known before how great it is, I had waited with ordering Logic 9, although Logic is a tremendous tool to produce music.

I switch to Garageband when I play and record piano ideas. Don't ask me why, I just catch myself opening Garageband and playing stuff.

When I find the time, I will record a song in GB and post it here.

Very warm and soft sounding. Excellent Jipes. Did you mic the resonator or how did you get the sound? You porperbly didn't use the GB amp simulations, did you?

The Johnson is set-up with a special Benedetti magnetic pickup (flat one) and it's plugged into my Fender Concert Amp with the Tremolo on :agree the drums are loops from GB as well as the birds

So far my GB projects have pretty much been jamming over backing tracks I loaded into GB. I have yet to complete one from scratch, though I have started one or two. It is a goal of mine this year to do that. I have the keyboard right here with drum kits loaded in it, and the keys of course, the guitars and amphs, and all I need. Just need to get something started.
