I didn't have a clue, so I figured at least one other person out there besides me would be the same.

So, responding to you - Yes!:D

I'd heard the term "competition" in reference to old Fenders, but didn't really know what it meant, and had never seen it abbreviated like that.

see, you are ahead of me - I thought he was referring to a car that would take his attention away from guitars once he got it out of the shop (not bs'ing either)

Sweet guitars all, when they are they are right:rockon:

Nice self-made deeaa! I really like that pickup combination, sort of like a '51. Lots of flavor. What pickups did you use in it? Sorry if I missed your explanation elsewhere on the forum.

Well, it's not completely scratch-built but based on neck and body woods from an 80's Charvette strat...but every part was re-shaped, re-formed, re-fretted and so on...it also used to have a floyd route and was converted to hardtail. It's now much smaller and lighter than original and of course my own shape; tilt-neck like on gibsons but strat scale.

The pickups are EMG 85 and S on the neck, which is what I use on all my guitars. The V has an 89 on the neck, but I use it in S mode...the 89 is there just for looks.

There is no pickup selector, just volumes, because 99% of the time I have both pickups on. The S merely gives it some added low end and 'size' plus helps it retain individual string clarity...I always use 2-pickup configs in any guitar I play. No need for switches, just roll back the 85 vol and it cleans up really beautifully.

Lately, it's my G&L ASAT Special. usually, I don't go for maple fretboards (and this is the only one in my collection), but there is something about this guitar...

It's my Les Paul Studio. It was actually a gift (a pretty awesome one at that!). I've worn lots of paint off of it. I'll often wind up tracking more with this guitar in a studio setting than any other.

That's a pretty beefy strap button you got going there Rylan. What is it?

those strap buttons look like those weird washer things you can fit to your guitar.

personally i just 'borrowed' a few dunlop straploks when i was on work experience. Theyre cheap as chips anyway, but James said i could take a couple :D

good olde guitar shop geezers.

1983 Guild D35 or 2007 Reverend Daredevil HB, depending. The Reverend is a recent acquisition, but it's quickly become MY guitar in a way no other electric has. Possibly because its neck feel very similar to the Guild.

Sweet lookin' studio you got rylan. :)

Here's my fav axe, my Carvin DC127 loaded with SD Blackouts. :dude:
