Call me the late to the show, but I just saw Snatch on Youtube Free Movies last night. What a killer movie! No wonder it has a cult following. It's definitely not perfect, script wise, but the rest makes up for it. Killer actors and the direction is superb.

Evening the movie opener is killer! If you haven't seen it, just be aware, it's a very violent movie and a lot of swearing.

Better late than never. Now please tell me you've seen Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Guy Ritchie's previous film. If not, watch it tonight. Trust me.

Yeah I have seen Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrel - great one too. These two are quite similar in fact, and I think Ritchie was criticized for that.

Not similar enough that to warrant most of the criticism, particularly when contrasted against other directors who've made careers of making the same movies over and over.

One significant difference between the two is scale. Lock, Stock focuses mostly on the circumstances of the four friends. The other characters are there entirely in relation to their story. The audience is supposed to feel some emotional investment with Eddie and his friends to care whether or not Hatchet Harry has them whacked. Snatch, on the other hand, is much more of an ensemble piece. Though Turkish is our primary story-teller, the true "main character" of the piece is really the diamond itself. Where it goes, the story goes.

If critics really want to criticize Guy Ritchie, they should watch Swept Away again.
