Hello all

I'm sure this has been talked about but i did a quick search and did not find answers.

What are settings for blue (model amp, etc etc)

thx

Lately I've been using the Black 2x12 amp with the following settings:
Gain: Noon
Volume: dimed
Treble: 1:00
Mid: 11:00
Bass: Noon
Effect: add reverb to taste

Last night I was also getting a pretty convincing "Riviera Paradise" tone using the Tweed 4x10 preset with the effects bypassed using the bridge-middle pickup combo on my Floyd.

I find that the Blackface model is good for clean stuff in general. For more gain I'll kick in my TO800.

I find it hard to give specific settings. It depends on what kind of blues sound you're after. Clean blues tone, distorted blues tone, or something in between?

Not to Mention what kind of guitar you have.

I really feel like I could play blues on any of the models, they would just sound very different. Even the NuMetal if you put the gain around 9-10 o'clock can give you some nice crunch as Robert found around a year ago.

If you look at the spec for the VOX DA amps, they label the same models with generic titles. The Tweed, AC15 and AC30 are called Blues 1, 2 and 3 respectively. I really like the AC15 model with a little more gain and treble. control the amount of drive from the guitar. for cleaner tones I use the Tweed set just on the edge. I'm using a Tele'.

Yep, sorry about the terminology. But yes dimed == turned up all the way (to 10 or to 11 if you are Nigel Tufnel)

For a good blues tone, I think you can find it with alot of different models. The Twin Reverb, Bassman, Ac-30, and 70's UK are all great. Even the Boutique OD with the gain set at about 11:00 gives you a bit of a blues/rock tone. One of the surprising ones that was shown to me when I bought my AD50VT was the Mesa....Bass and Treble at about 1:00, Mids dimed, and gain set low..a nice blues/rock/ZZ Top kind of grind.

Just keep tweaking with the amp...you'll find something suitable.

No need to apologise. I love the exposure we have on forums to people of different countries. It makes a change from learning about the US from The Simpsons and sitcoms.
