I decided I wanted to add the ability to split the DiMarzio humbuckers in my Japanese Charvel SoCal so I replaced the original volume control with a push/pull - pull up and you have single coil and push down for humbucker. It does offer additional tonal variety and, oddly enough, the SoCal models out of Mexico offer this stock although with cheaper humbuckers. Anyway, a little demonstration...
