Caring for an unfinished neck

Cool video. Of course, now my only guitar has a sealed maple neck and fretboard. My bass' rosewood fretboard couple probably stand a little moisture when I go to restring it the next time.

One way to make sure that the tape you use won't damage or mar your finish is to stick it to your jeans first. It'll pick up enough lint from your jeans to keep it from sticking hard but not enough so that it won't stick at all. Poly finishes are pretty bulletproof but the nitro ones can be damaged with too strong of a stare.
