Never had my hands on one, but they look good. I wouldn't mind owning one, the question is......... which one............ so many guitars, so little money.

Any thoughts or comments on the Douglas Brand sold by Rondo?
I've been curious about that, too, Street. You certainly see enough here about the SX's and Agile's, but not a word to be found about Douglas. Anybody here with "hands-on" experience??

Thanks Bloozcat , but I'm still thinking about the Douglas WT-445 they have it in a red or a black. I was almost ready to order that new http://www.rondomusic.com/product1693.html
or they have http://www.rondomusic.com/wr320bk.html
or the Argile AD-2300 Wide

I'm pretty much on the mind of trying the WT-445 first, and doing some mods on it if it's in need. I think it needs a five way switch for one thing. How about opinions????

What kind of music do you want to play with this guitar?

You've got three pretty different guitar listed here. A semi-hollow that would be a blues/jazz/classic rock kind of a guitar. A basswood solid body shredder kind of guitar. And a solid mahogany (neck & body) guitar with three humbuckers that looks to be suitable for a heavier, alt rock, metal kind of music, with the possible capability of hard rock/classic rock tone maybe.

What are you going for, street?

Douglas gets mentioned every so often on the TalkBass forums too. I've never really researched them that much.

I would guess the quality is somewhere between an SX and an Agile, based on price. I've read rave reviews about Agiles, for whatever that's worth!

Yeah, I own two Agiles, and they're great bang-for-the-buck guitars. Modders dreams, they are.

Seems that the prevailing opinion at the Agile site, is that the Douglas guitars are a cut above the SX's in materials and workmanship. Funny, but I had been under the impression that they were slightly below the SX in quality. But, never having played one, that was pure conjecture on my part.

I used to go to Rondo Music every so often before they closed up shop in Union, NJ. To tell ya the truth I was never impressed by any of the Agiles, Douglas, or SX guitars in there. I'm sure I would have bought somethingin the all the years I frequented the place if I did. They did have great deals on Classic 30 amps and some Fender guitars now and again though.

That was the impression I'd had too. Not sure why.

After much consideration and discussion with Kodiak I think this is what I will be getting a SX not a Douglas.

I have wanted a hollow body for a long time, so I will wait till JUly when Kodiak comes to present it to me, remember this is my Father's Day gift.
Now I'm really getting pumped just waiting to get my hands on this.

That's a really nice looking guitar. I'm curious about the quality. From the price, it appears to be a "high-end" SX.

Did you ever get this guitar? Man she's a beauty!

I have heard nothing but good things about Rondo and their guitars. Their customer service is said to be excellent as well.

Why don't you call them and ask which is the better model? You might lean something you didn't expect.

The quality of the Agiles is outstanding, and the workmanship is usually impeccable. The SX line is good for the money and certainly a modder's platform. Both guitars are supper bang for the buck!
