I went to install a set of Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups in my 91 MIM Strat and the pickups and covers are too big to fit the stock holes in the stock pickguard. Bummer.:(

Just thought I'd pass this on before someone else takes apart their guitar. Maybe it isn't a problem with other years or models of Fender guitars.

More like Miller time. :)
I kept the Mexi the way it was but ended up putting in a Dimarzio FS1 in the bridge. That should be all right until I find something to put the Noiseless into. I'm not up to messing up the pick guard just yet.

I did eventually get the Vintage Noiseless into the pick guard on the Mexi Strat. It was tight but they went. I also ended up putting a 250k volume post in. I think they might be a bit more clear sounding with a 500k pot instead. I'll try the 500k in a couple of weeks to find out the difference.

split the difference and go with a 300K....Just a thought.

Good tip LG, and Spud don't forget to tilt the pups level every so often with that tight fit.

PS - black Strat type geetars are just as sexy as black Les Pauls. +2
