The time has come to attach a name to this band. I have a few ideas, but a lot rides on a name, and I'm willing to entertain suggestions.

We're shaping up to be a 90's rock cover band, with some good old party standards and a smattering of classic rock thrown in for good measure. Our target audience is the 25 to 35 year olds. I want to keep the name simple, catchy, and easy to remember.

Suggestions? Be nice and give me some good names to work with, please. :D

By '90s covers, do you suggest a fair amount of grunge sound? I am from the Seattle area, so that sound colored a lot of that period for me. The range of covers would influence my thoughts on a name.

Nah, not grunge..............................STP, Collective Soul, Cracker, Alive...............somewhere along those lines, with some good "shake your money maker" classics.

We're looking at being at being a "good time party band", not some serious "listen to our serious message, I hate life, kill yourself while you have the chance" band.

We're looking at keeping the crowd fired up and happy.

Ok. That helps. I'll give it some thought. The first thing that came to mind was something like "hole in my head" as in "the world needs another folk singer like . . ." I put STP on the edge of grunge, kind of like the Peppers and Alice in Chains. But I get what you're saying. I'll see if I can do better than that. Without reference to Cracker, that name does not say anything related to what you are doing.

EDIT: Oops. didn't see you had decided. Ok, pressure is off now.

No biggie. It was fun thinking about it for a minute. But, because of my car, I think your should spell your band name "Alfa Dog." :)

How about something that is one word and captures rock n roll in it's most true form (I had to write that stuff to make the minimum character requirement)
What I want to say is "BRIMSTONE"

Got any band pics? Point being, if we get an idea of what the band looks like it might make the band name easier to come by.

I think that I have the list pared down to about a dozen candidates to bring to the table. I'll announce the winner as soon as the round table convenes.

Thanks for the ideas, folks! :D

OK...........................

Fast Cat Nation

The Vibe

The Rage

Charming Abbey

Vanguard

Big Charming

The Cunning Stunts

Mars Needs Women

........and the list goes on.............

The band meeting is done and the verdict is in. The name is....................

Radio Logic

I dunno. That seems like one of those oxymoron's. Sort of like jumbo shrimp or Army intelligence.

There is no logic in radio. The name rolls of the tongue just fine, but think about what you are implying. (no offense intended)

Rolls off the tongue and easy to remember is what we were shooting for - no message or agenda intended. :D
