Ok, First I have to admit I watched this on Bio channel so yes I watched about THE MONKEES..
with that behind me...

I was floored when they started talking about when they went on tour.

Mickey Dolenz in 1967 went to a bar and seen this guy playing wild guitar and starting it on fire etc...

HE thought man, we are a clown act to.. let's get him to open for us!

The guy was Boo' ed off stage.. the kids wanted to hear THE MONKEES

The guy...

Jimmy Hendrix...

Who woulda thunk it! :thwap:

man,I guess im slow... soooo..how come ya didnt mention it..or did I miss the post?

Im not much of a Hendrix fan as far as history goes..didn't he play a big concert someplace?

Heh Justa.... you been smoking that jazz tobacco again? ;)

Hendrix played at SuperBowl.. surely you´ve heard about that gig ?

Hey, the Monkee's were pretty big back then.

David Bowie is 'Bowie' because of them. (Davey anyway)

They had some pretty good song writers of the day writing their music. I still enjoy a good Monkee's tune now and then.
Cheers!

No comment...but it was late at night in the privacy of my own home!

I was thinking he played some wood thing to...I dunno.. he was a good side show though...

As far as the Monkees... only the beatles Sgt. Peppers topped them back then...

Here we come... walking down the street... getting funniest looks from...

Oh I did have a Monkee Mobile Hot wheels metal car to if I remember right..
along side my beatle wig and boots...

The best story I have heard was told by one of the Isley brothers.
They had an add out for a guitarist, and this guy shows up for an audition.
He played the whole gig and was hired on the spot. He asked if he could have a couple of dollars in advance to buy some strings. Isley said ok and threw him some bucks. Only then did he see that he only had three strings on his guitar. The guy was Jimi Hendrix.
