We already have fleece, velcro on, vests for aspen and our older dog that passed on. Aspen did fine in the snow, and this goofy goober will do fine too. We adopted him from a family that could not keep him. He is 12 weeks old. He came with the name of "Buddy", and we are thinking about whether we will re-name. But I bet a nickname at least of Goober will stick.
'Cuz he kind of is one.
They are great family dogs. IF the family an exercise them. Very smart too. We have our old Vizsla girl Aspen, who we have had since 1996, helping me read to the kids. She is still going pretty strong for 15, and still can come along on a slow jog or hike, or classic XC ski. Skate skiing is now too fast for her pace. He did pretty well over night. Settled down in his crate after some whining, and slept until my wife got up early for her spin class. I took him on a little run this morning, and he did very well on a lead. Not much pulling. And when I could let him off lead in a side canyon, he stayed close. He now just needs to get used to this being his place, and get a bit more comfortable so he can relax in his new home.
