Island Time

the only thing is that Nassau is getting too commercialized for our taste, we love the more rustic islands/resorts... you get to socialize more with the locals, and get a true feel for the culture and the people that way. :)

Hey CB, glad you had a blast on your vacation. Sounded cool. We are finding much the same to be true over here in Germany with regards to the people. Didja notice that as soon as you and Shiner left, that the State of Texas went to hell in a hand-basket over that poly-gamist sect with the hundreds of kids????
Glad that y'all are back safe and sound.

PBP, Texas has known about and watched that sect ever since they moved in. i know, b/c i remember reading an article in a magazine at my optometrist's some time ago.

i would comment at great length, but it has to do with politics and law, and i would not dare to do that here. i respect this forum, and will not tread further. hope that you and your family are doing well. :)

I'll add more tomorrow after I've had time to rest and decompress, but I thought y'all might like to see few pics of CB's trapeze lesson this morning!:D Personally I think she's crazy, but maybe that's part of her charm.

Wow, CB you getting up there on that trapeze!!! If this guitar thing doesn't pan out, there is always the circus.

Now I'm sure Shiner tried his hand at the beer drinking contest when you were there. He tends to go for those challenges that take him to the edge.

TRIED MY HAND????:flamemad: Son, I kicked some serious Bahamian butt in that contest, proving once again that there is no all-inclusive resort that can survive a couple of beer drinkin' Texas lawyers.

:D

we'll never tell about the trapeze in the bedroom.

:(

nobody noticed my magic hat with the CB on it. it has a story all it's own. ;)

:rotflmao:

the byproxy gave me the whole 'footlocker' of Hogwarts for my xmas present... i devoured Duma Key in the airport, and ran halfway through the Harry Potter series on the island, while Shiner was running through the Dark Tower Series. [liked Duma Key, but like Lisey's Story better]

my magic hat...

we used to go to this thing in Waco called the Charity Ball, held by the Junior Leaguers of Waco.

[...]

got over it quickly, especially when i saw how they failed to fund my favorite charity... i digress.

so in march of 2004, at the open bar, i went to the toddler gate of 'pleasantly buzzed'... and someone left that gate Wiiiiiiide Open... b/c i just kept on toddlin.

needless to say, when we left, i was pleasantly schnockered. i started digging through our goodie bags [parting gifts and prizes] as soon as he started the truck.

Shiner was driving us home, and we got to the police station at Waco Drive and 5th... i came up, owlishly, grinning. i slapped that cap on my head and announced that it was my 'magic invisibility cap'... and that i was pretty sure i was safe, but that he was pretty much screwed.

we laughed so hard the whole way home... i was crying.

it is my faithful Island cap thereafter. :D

The SWINGIN SINGIN CB and her Shiner, man that sounds like a new country song . What a nice break from the real life of work and labor. Glad you had a great trip and welcome back.

know what you mean CB about Nassau.the second and last time there it was a huge dissappointment.you gotta love those cops though with those uniforms. and that shack they call a police station. :D
if you really just came in do as JS suggests go crash yer luggage is not going anywhere.glad you had a good trip - Welcome back

Thanks for the pictures guys. That flying trapese act looks like a lot of fun and I would love to do that sometime.....but unfortunately I made myself a promise when I was just a wee little lad,, that I would go as high as humanly possible...as long as I always have one foot on the ground. Welcome Home....Glad you had fun......now get back to work. Ouch!!!!!! Kimmie that beer bottle nearly hit me in the head...don't throw anything else and I promise not to use that four letter word in the future.

thanks, y'all, for all the nice sentiments...

Pappy... you KNOW i would never throw anything at you! :D

and the trapeze thing just reinforced a belief that i have.

within your physical limitations, never allow a chance to fulfill a dream pass you by... life is Too Short. ;)

it's been a really rough work week, and next week is going to totally stress. i have to work in five counties in four days.

but...

this time next week...

we will be packing up for the islands again.

we will be going with one of my closest friends and her husband [i was in her bridal party one year before she was in mine, same date]

i am crunchy. i am beyond fried from work. i am so ready for vacation.

and i will so be doing the trapeze thing again. :rotflmao:

we will have guitars in tow. midnight strumming on the beach, or something. :D :D :D

Hey, have a great time!!!

I could use a shutdown right about now.

want the keys to the house? you could keep the girls we don't take company... :D

i'll tell the watchdogs you had permission. ;)

just don't leave it the way you did last time. :poke:

CB, I hope you Mr Shiner have a great vacation, just be thinking of all of us still working back at home while you are just playing away on those strings and enjoying the sun.

Hope you have a great time. Are you going back to the Bahmas, or venturing to some new islands??

Back to the Bahamas this time Keel. But I've been watching the prices to Aruba, and I'm thinking that might be the next trip.

. . . . Bahama, come on pretty Mama . . . .

ok, sorry, it is raining, I have to work, and I am bored with the idea. ;) Have fun you guys!

You know what they say Steve, if you want a beautiful woman on the islands, you need to take your own.

well, it's here.

got to leave work around 3:20, got home, started putting stuff on the pool table for staging.

i had forgotten what a poison stress is, i had really lost touch with my joie de vivre.

Shiner put some bahamian music on the stereo, i started dancing with maggie... [do the lawnmower... now twirl the doggie rope... shake your moneymaker...toss the chewie toy...]

we promise to take lots of pics. the guitars were the first things packed. ;)
