I have seen them on the internet and they look and sound great (youtube).
I was wondering have any of you guys played or owned any of his guitars.

I would love to hear any feed back you guys might have.

Best Regards,

Great looking guitars I have to go test drive one these this weekend.

Thanks for posting the pics.

I bought this earlier this year (CL find) a 2003 Michael Kelly Patriot Q ... and she is CLEAN! There is one minute blem you can barely see only if you are looking for it. She weighs in at 9 lbs. The tarnish on the pickups cleaned up with some Maguires, the Gotoh tuner knobs are slightly pitted and the Gotoh bridge and tailpiece have lost some gold finish, but polished up great. Electrically she is sound. The overall sound is very good. The neck pickup is excellent clean and crunches up nicely at around 8. With the tone pot up (single coil) she looses some volume but has a twangier (is that a word?) sound. The bridge pickup is somewhat muddy at lower volumes, but when turned up comes through OK. Again dirties up at 8. With the tone pot set to single coil, it loses volume, and cuts the tone but not as much as you would think.

Did I mention the sustain? OMG! This little girl just rings on and on... unbelievable.

All in all... I LIKE IT! I can't wait to get my Bradley in the shop just to compare them, then decide which gets upgraded.

The strings were DOA and all I had was a set of Dean Markley Blue Steels in .009s. Note: You will notice in my pics that the D string saddle is way out of place. It was a bad D string, once I replaced that string and re-adjust the intonation. It is now in its normal. Otherwise, I am VERY happy.

Not too bad for $275 with OHSC (TKL).

I saw the Michael Kelly's at the NAMM show and I was very impressed with how they looked. When I got a hold of the pricelist, I was floored. Looks to be an excellent deal. I've not played one but if Robert is happy with his...

I was wondering what is the radius of the neck?

Maxi.......................

Sorry...

Thanks, she is purrdy! And plays as good as she looks.

I don't know what the radius is, all I know is that its comfortable for me. All I can say is if you can try one out, you will probably take it home.

FYI: My Bradley LPC goes in this weekend for some luthier lovin!

Usually, natural, unstained wood finish on guitars bores me, but that guitar is incredibly beautiful!
:AOK

Michael Kelly Patriot Limited

I have a Michael Kelly as well - a Patriot Limited with the Burled Bubinga finish. This model has the Rockfield SWC pickups which can be coil tapped making the guitar very versatile tonally.

MK guitar

My cherry burst MK Patriot Custom with direct mount Rockfield pickups is an awesome guitar for the money, around 550.

I had no idea that Rockfield pickups sounded so great. The guitar is a beauty and feels great and the sounds are really appreciative. Three distinctly different switch sounds, all great. MK guitars are definitely way better built and sounding than a lot of people realize.

I have been looking at possibly getting another different one but my list of other priorities for musical gear has a couple items already on the agenda.

Michael Kelly guitars are great value for money! I have the Vex NV and the craftsmanship/quality is excellent. You can get one new on ebay for $469... I got mine for $396 gently used.

Here is mine:

Very nice solo, and a great introduction! Bonus points for having your cutie-pie daughter help with the video.

Fractal FX Ultra? Now that is my dream FX system. :drool

Nice playing on the guitar. great video room What kind of gear do you have in your Man Cave? I have done quite a few rooms for friends of mine. Audio/visual is another one of my loves for sure.

Don't mean to stray too far off-topic, but just wanted to answer your question....

As far as A/V equipment, nothing too fancy... I got some speakers from AV123 (Onyx Reference series) and a HSU research subwoofer, a Mitsubishi DLP 720p projector, Carada 100" screen, Emotiva Pre/Pro and Power Amp, Denon 3910 DVD player, Sony PS3, and an HTPC running XBMC. I had a friend help me finish the room with acoustic treatments. Oh and of course some Berkline theater recliners and Lutron lighting control. This is all old stuff from 2004 when I moved into this house and we finished the basement. The only thing that has been changed is the projector which used to be a Benq PE8700 but it died on me.

Cheers!
