2) Be very wary of purchasing damaged or returned stock, B-Stock, or "Scratch & Dent" items from any retailer. They're listed that way and discounted for a reason that you may not be willing or able to deal with and the cost of making some of these items right might exceed the difference spent for the equivalent brand-new Grade-A item.
