No, not redneck, I've got that covered! What I'm curious about is how you determine the neck profile of your guitar? Are there any rules of thumb?
 
Which upper case letter does it look like in profile? C, D, V and U profiles are common. All are approximations and it mainly comes down to the slope of the shoulder under the fingerboard. A short roundup goes:

C - modern Fenders and recent Martin designs
D - most Gibsons and classic postwar Martins
V - 50s strats, prewar Martins (and reissues of both)
U - 50s teles

This is very brief but most other guitars borrow their designs from these basic food groups anyway.
 
How do you mean? I just look at it first and then confirm with touch if needed. Warmoth has great example pics of various profile shapes...they are pretty easy to distinguish by andlarge IMO.
