I ordered a SG Classic from Musician's Friend. I've wanted a P90 equipped guitar for a while now and I can't wait to plug that guitar in and hear it growl! :D

Let me guess... it's GREEN :bravo::rotflmao:

Cool! I'd like to get a P90 equipped axe as well. Clips and pics, man. Clips and pics!

I played one at Guitar Center the other day through a Vox AC15 handwired combo and was in sonic heaven. I love P-90s. That Classic is a great example of a reasonably priced Gibson.

Never been a Gibson fan, but I am interested on how the SG plays and feels to some one who likes them, to me it is not my thing. So please share with us a review once you get it.

I have owned a 1968 SG Special with the P90s and the vibrolo whammy bar since 1969. Mine is in the dark wine red. Those P90s sure sound nice. The neck is the old baseball bat style but very flat and very fast. Love the playing position, similar to a 335. Compared to a Les paul or strat the 12th fret is about where the 9th fret is. Getting to the 15th to 22nd fret is much easier for soloing. I think they are a much overlooked guitar.

I love P-90's too! A lot of the people over at Harmony-Central guitar forums have bought those SG Classics and are very pleased with them.

I make due with my hundred-dollar knockoff. ;)

Next To Ibanez the SG has been my favorite. I've never played P90's though How do they sound?

Congrats Plank, and Brian that is a great looking axe. Brand??

Thanks.

It's an "Agile," which is an import (MIK) house brand of a place called Rondo Music. They used to have a brick-and-mortar store, in New Jersey iirc, but now only do mailorder. They can be found here: http://www.rondomusic.net

In general the Agiles meet or exceed Epi quality(probably excluding Epi Elitists). I actually had an Epi G400 SG prior to getting this Agile on close-out, and sold the Epi thereafter. Not sure if Agile currently has a P-90 SG-style, but instock models change several times yearly. The honcho at Rondo, Kurt, is a good guy.

The Classic is in the house! :D

It arrived just before I left the house for a gig, so I haven't had a chance to play it yet. It's bootiful! :D

I'll take some pics later today and post them.

Nice move, Plank, very nice. :AOK: I love what I get from my Casino with it's P-90's, but they DO take on a whole new voice in the solid body of the SG. Besides the growl, nice edgy jangle cleans, too.

Lookin' forward to seein' the pics...

Just took it for a quick spin and I'm a happy camper. The neck is beefier than my Supreme but it feels good with this guitar. I like the factory setup - just about perfect for me.

It sounds amazing. The pickups are pretty hot and I dig that beefy, snarly single coil sound. It has a lot of character.

I foresee playing lots of notes on this guitar..................:D
