Funny you mentioned that because when I look at the photos of the guitar in the case yeah I can still smell it. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh... :)

ps - ...are Neumanns good mics? ;)

Very lovely instrument, simply wonderful.:AOK:

Clips would be great......... don't get in a rush to make mine, however.....
I can wait until you have a good harp and necktrap rig.:bravo: :bravo: :bravo:

Congratulations Tone! :AOK:

Like all the others I'm looking forward to more pics... :poke:
and maybe you could bottle the Martin smell and send us samples (some gas to give us more GAS!).

That Martin would be b!tchin' with a Kahler on it *ducks*

You just know there is somebody, somewhere, trying to figure out how to make that happen on their Martin, so they can plug into an amph for a screamin' solo...:thwap:

I'm a Floyd man myself!
Me too, but I thought a Kahler would be easier to mount on an acoustic. Was it on here where someone posted a link on how they put a Floyd on an acoustic?

OK- 4 months later- and hopefully I didnt miss anything, but now that I am seriously interested in a Martin, how's this one doing?

4 months already? Dang time needs to slowwwww dowwwwwn.

One word...perfection.

Same set of gold strings. Same beautiful tear jerking tone. It's no wonder Martins are considered the best guitars on the planet.

You're killing me Tone.

Now go play or I'll sneak up to your porch & steal it.

...I'll grab the martini while I'm at it.

It's amazing the differences in tone and timbre you get with different picks though. I'm set on 2 styles for the Martin. One is the Fender Premium Celluloids (pearl white) in heavy and a medium plastic pick I got from an old music store in town that went out of business years ago. Those 2 picks give the best range of low end and bright sparkle with an even amount of mids. If I use other picks like the thick plastic Martins or the Tortex Dunlops you get a mellower midrange tone with less high end. I prefer the former though. I also play the acoustics with the fat end of the pick not the pointy end. Like I said tOt it makes you want to cry when you listen to the Martin. :)

Way cool, Tone, thanks for the Gas injection :D

Can't wait to get to GC in Atlanta and see if they have one I can play around with, even though I can't really afford it.

Good to hear you're still loving it! I bought a Martin D-15 last year. Took me a year to settle on a model, but it didn't take long to figure out it had to be a Martin! Mine's all mahoghany, and sounds like that first cup of morning coffee!
