With the Saints marching into Miami, my beloved Lions are now the only NFC team to never have played in a Super Bowl. One Detroit News columnist said that they were the only non-expansion team, but that's not entirely true. Yes, the Browns are technically an expansion team, but they kept the original franchise's history when the team moved to Baltimore (which for me was one of the top two travashamockeries in NFL history). Of course, the Browns were non-existent for what, three years? So they've had fewer opportunities than the Lions have had.
