Potential Strat project: Humbucker-brdge, P90-neck?

I have rescued a Yamaha Pacifica, and after cleaning it up, it is time to think about modding it, after I learn how to solder..!

Stock humbucker in bridge position will stay for now.

I am tempted to put a P90 in the neck position, and mostly use that?

And maybe go minimalistic, just wire the P90 to volume pot, sans tone pot and pickup switch?
