Another oldguy

Here's my favorite Tele. Built from licensed parts and real parts. Ash body, lic. neck. "Real" bridge, tuners, p.u.'s. It's got vintage pickups, a low action, and sounds great on any tube amp I've tried yet. Sounds s-u-c-k-y through my retroencabulator though!

Nice Tele. Looks like it's got some vibe.
If you change the Mhz setting on the retroencabulator and push the sub harmonic inductance filter to 42 hz and change the c3 capictor to a 300pf some of the suck should go away.

It is the signature of, and dated by country music artist Leroy Van Dyke.
He played a venue near my hometown three yrs. ago. He is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to meet. When he saw what I wanted autographed, the tele (instead of a piece of paper or record album, etc.), his eyes lit up. He said " Say, nice little tele you got there, reminds me of the one I bought back around '52 or '3! That was one of my first electrics. They're real good guitars. You sure you want me writing all over it?"
I told him yes I was sure. He talked to people in the crowd over two hours after his show. Talked about local farms and farmers, the crops, livestock, and of course, MUSIC!:)

oldguy: that's a cool autograph. My Dad sang "the Auctioneer" for years, kinda his signature song. He won a talent show with that song when he was 18 - going back almost 50 years for that one I guess. (I think he did as good or better job than ol' Leroy, but I'm biased - ha ha!).

Riley: nice composition in your photograph. I especially like the way the green clover offsets the yummy red of your MW tele. Awesome axe.

It's kind of a Tele...It's "special."
It is a Squier standard Tele Special and I love it. No ice pic sounds in the bridge position and it gets a nice typical middle tele sound, but the neck pickup while being alnico is not up to par for me. The sound is kind of good but the output is low compared to the excellent humbucker. I have a GFS fatbody neck pickup on the way.
This guitar just sounds and plays fabulous. Sustain for days. It's the only guitar I have that my wife said, "that sounds good" right off the bat.

Very nice tele spud!

good looking stone wall as well, but it seems like a stone is missing from the top right section!!

So I am a little late in posting a picture. I have not figured out how to take a good digital picture, so here is the next best thing.

What do you think about that Tele, Tim? How does it sound? I posted a thread on that particular model a while back and never heard anything about it... It shore do look cool!:D

Kat – Sorry I missed your call for information on this guitar. I have been trying to spend more time practicing than reading all the posts in depth.

In using just the neck pickup it sounded a little bassy. Thanks to the help of Bloozcat recommendations, I replaced all 4 potentiometers and the resisters in the guitar. The original pots became a little scratchy. I may replace the neck resister once more to a different value next time I change strings to lessen the bassy tone a little more. By tuning in the right amount of the bridge hum bucker, the guitar can duplicate any style guitar. By selecting just the bridge pickup, it comes close to a full Tele. I am very happy with it.

Wow that's pretty! Looks like it belongs near the beach with that natural blondish finish and maple neck. Can you post a clip of how it sounds?

This is my other one. The neck is fat and round like a vintage Tele. At first I didn't like it but now I've grown accustomed to it and now it's great!

Yes it is . . . I think they only had this color for a year or two. I replaced the bland white pickguard with this creme colored Pearloid. It's an 04 model I bought at fire sale pricing as Guitar Heaven was closing their doors and heading for the Internet full time, Brand new $259! I have double that in it with the mods but it " T W A N G S " sooooo good!

That's a beauty, Moleboy. Should fetch a good price for you! BTW, why are you selling it? I'd hold onto that guitar like my life depended on it!
