I disagree. It's a way to tell if the heat's too high.

No pancakes for me today... I forgot and made fried eggs and sausages and toast instead, and left my pajama bottoms on. Better luck next year, I guess.

Well, this morning I just had my usual, sensible (and boring) breakfast of oatmeal with honey, raisins, and nuts.

But, tomorrow morning a zero-dark-thirty the wife and I are climbing on a plane and heading for the Russian River Valey in California for a week, where I'll be forced to sample Pinot Noirs and Zinfandels all week long. I'll be a tough job, but one that has to be done.

Maybe if there's time on our way back, we can stop at The Buena Vista Restaurant in San Fran and I can get some pancakes....no, not naked, just in the tradition of The Buena Vista Restaurant, with a couple of cups of Irish coffee to wash those pancakes down... :drool:

Maybe I'm the last here to know this, but there actually is a National Pancake Day.

It's on the Tuesday right before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Although commonly known as Fat Tuesday to most, it's National Pancake Day to those really in the know...
