Over a period of several months, I completely modded a Fender Squier Stagemaster guitar and I documented the whole project in my blog at:

http://stagemaster.blogspot.com/

If you would like to read the trials and tribulations I encountered regarding electronics, wiring, shielding, etc., you might find this to be an interesting read.

I quickly found out that modding electronics ain't as easy as it sounds.

Wow! There is a wealth of info there, Crispy! DiMarzio is WRONG? I'll bet you got a few "no, they're not"s over that one!:D
You should be ready to graduate to guitar tech w/ about one more project.
Oh, welcome to the Fret! If you wouldn't mind, you might go to the Fret Members thread and introduce yourself. There are some folks here who will be glad to meet you. One will tell you it's a nice place and say he thinks you'll like it here, and another (who shall remain nameless...dvm...) may engage you in endless discussions of electronics, hopefully leading the rest of us into even bigger and better things, musically.
Again, your project and the documentation was wonderful.

OOOoohh, I almost forgot...did you get yer nickname from a cereal?:R :DR

Very cool, Crispy! I can see I'll be poking around your blog quite a bit, because this is the kind of stuff that floats my boat! My latest project is a do-it-yourself Tube Screamer clone pedal kit that I'm modifying extensively. Always great to find a kindred soul here! :DR

I'd encourage you to stop by the Fret Player's forum and introduce yourself.

Great stuff Crispy. Welcome and I am looking forward to delving into your project when I can get back to it. From what I have seen already it is very interesting.
