So, what'd ya get!?

My highlights,

TC Polytune pedal
GoPro HDHero2 cam (this is gonna be so sweet!)
cool bike jersey.
Quicksliver cotton sweater.
Other than the tuner pedal, nothing else really guitar related. Nice though, I feel very blessed and fortunate.

Winter coat
Trivial Pursuit
Road atlas
Logitech webcam
A book

All told, pretty sweet! I didn't really have any winter coat to speak of, so that was fortuitous timing.

Mostly I got money. Members of my congregation were kind enough to give us gas cards since our kids go to a Lutheran school 1/2 hour away. I used some of the money preemptively to buy two new suits at Men's Wearhouse. I look almost blindlingly handsome. Even with a two-for-one sale it was still a lot of cash. Business expenses, I suppose. I'll probably spend some on something frivolous too. I'd like to get a Suh jersey, but I can't find a decent replica one even on the NFL's own shop. For now I'm wearing my old Kevin Jones (remember him? I didn't think so) alternate black jersey.

I got these 4 things

Just got a Carhartt jacket and a few shirts. Oh, and a set of Beatles album cover glassware.

This was more about taking care of the kids and grandkids this year, so the Mrs and I kept our promises to just give each other a few smaller items.

Since I started running again -- if you can call what I do running -- my wife got me a Timex Ironman Run Trainer. Very cool watch!
I just hope it is accurate enough to keep track of my snail-like pace. ;-)

Tig those are awesome. I'm going to have to come to Texas to have a drink with you from those (I call Rubber Soul)

I got a Kindle from my parents which was pretty cool. They also paid for my first five books which was very cool as well. Already plowed right through the first one.

Also got a new pair of headphones, two cool new hats, two Kasey Anderson albums (I now have them all) and a couple of very cool t-shirts.

We made this Hannukah/Christmas mostly about our daughter. We got each other a few things we wanted but we spent the majority of the budget on Ella. She had a great haul and that made my wife and I happy.

Hope you guys all had a great holiday!

Good lord C64! Let me guess, an amp kit? :D

Nice haul guys. :dance

I and my sis didn't exchange gifts this year. Instead we cooked ourselves a great turkey dinner. She bought a quarter turkey (breast/wing) and tried a new method of baking. That went well, so luscious and tender. I really stuffed myself. Of course we had potato, stuffing, corn and gravy as well.

Add to my list:

1 4'x8' sheet of 3/4-inch birch plywood
1 4'x8' sheet of 1/2-inch birch plywood
1 recone job from partsexpress ($53 to restore my blue eminence alnico speaker for my Pro Jr.).

I took advantage of the beautiful weather. Sunny and 45 degrees. I just cut all the parts to make 2, 12 inch cabinets using the AX84 plan. The baffles are strips of oak and cherry that I had in the garage. So I'll be assembling those tomorrow. I ordered brown tolex.

So yeah, I'm building a 5E3 Clone using the PCB from ppwatt.com.

Very Cool C-64!

@tig and nwb, yeah, that was on an elastic head strap, and I plan on using a hard mount on my ski helmet that should cut down on jiggling. On my MTB, I will do some research to find out what works best, head, chest or bar mount. Not thinking a bar mount would be ideal. The vid quality itself seems pretty nice!

Spud, did you join Slipknot? :rollover

BTW, that is a nice looking guitar! Also, what is that wheel-thingy?

Nope, not in Slipknot, but I can tie one. Actually, it's one of those deals where the wife makes more work for the man by buying him a tool.

wheel-thingy?
That's an ab wheel. The easy on the back way to develop the abs so that I can grate carrots on my stomach once again.

The best MTB vid's I've seen were helmet mounted. Our legs and arms do a great job of shock absorption. A chest mount might be OK, but some vibration from the arms might still show up there.

Mrs. Tig just used up a few of her gift cards from work for paint to paint our living room.

What did I do to deserve this sentence of hard labor???

This Xmas I got a hand wired amph. Seriously.

Here it is:

Minty Fresh micro-amp! by FrankenFretter, on Flickr

IMG_0126[1] by FrankenFretter, on Flickr

It's an Ampoid micro-amph. No tone, volume or on switch, just plug and play. Almost no clean headroom to speak of, even with the guitar volume at minimum. Still, a fun little amph to play with, and it's super portable!

Nice FF! That looks fun!

Here is some vid I took today to test out the cam while skiing. Just a groomer run, but top to bottom in under 4 minutes. This is still with the head strap on my helmet. I will likely affix a hard mount. Still pretty smooth though. The better vid with better color is the quicktime movie at the link, but I also loaded up a youtube vid if you are impatient. You can make it a little better, though not as good as the quicktime vid, by watching at youtube and bumping the resolution to 720HD.
