Congratulations.Looks nice.Real nice."Only a Gibson is good enough"
Got any more pics?

Nice...real nice. Is that finish honey or tobacco burst?

I'm your opposite. Been playing Gibson LPs all my life. Just bought a Fender Tele after 35 years.

Have fun with that LP!!

Congratulations. I'm curious though. Why does an expensive guitar like that have a plastic input jack plate? That doesn't make sense to me.

Because that's how Gibson designed 'em.......and so it was the first thing to change when you bought one unless you wanted to wait and replace it the first time you pulled crooked on the cable, or leaned the guitar with the cable plugged in...........'cause they break.

Congrats on your new Paul, btw, it's a beauty. (Be careful of the jackplate, though.)

my les paul 60 is a darkburst

and my es 335 is a 50th anniversary sunburst

both great players

I gotta say, 'Happy New Guitar'
Nothing quite like a LP and the 60 should be a dream to play.
Jealous as hell.

That is funny because my 1993 Les Paul Studio (which sells for way less than a Standard) came with a metal jack plate. Gibson must be trying for historical accuracy.

I believe although maybe not exactly accurate the jack plate back in 1960 was plastic .

It seems alot reissues always seem to get a step closer to the original spec as time goes on but they always seem not to get like the original .

Maybe a undercurrent plot to make customers keep buying the newer reissues guitars or making us want more accurate parts for our existing guitars so we have to purchase them .

I dont know maybe im just rambling here :whatever:

:dude: Man That thing looks sweet! I can hear the sustain coming off that even when its not played. (as nigel tufnel once said something like that:thwap: )

Here is another pic of my es 335

Iv'e got my eyes on a es 330 with p90 pickups I would like to get but we will see how that works out .
