My Fulltone OCD is on all the time, at least with my Strat. It's the second pedal in the chain, but most of the time I only use the OCd so there is no such chain.

I have a Boss NS2 Noise Suppressor that I leave on all the time, if that counts--all my "gain" pedals are in its noise-reduction loop, and it could be very noisy with single-coils without it.

As far as pedals that add something rather than removing it, my Digitech DigiVerb, set to a low level, is on whenever I'm running an amp w/o onboard reverb. I like a little "space" in my tone.

I also usually have my BYOC analog delay on, too, set to a short interval and not much regen, just to fill out the sound some. If I kick in another modulation effect (phaser, flanger, chorus, trem), the delay goes back off, or it just gets too "busy"....

My Digitech Digiverb. I like the flexibility of it over the amps onboard reverb, so it's always on. :AOK:
I run this and my Tuner, Delay, EQ, and Chorus through the effects loop on my Peavey C30 and run the second output of the Chorus into my JC-120. Running both amps makes for a nice full sound.

+1. A pedal board is a spice cabinet: my other pedals are things like turmeric, nutmeg, cardamom, etc., but the OCD is salt.

Besides distortion I'd have to say my Wasabi AD-1 Forward-Reverse Effects Pedal. The slight 1-2 echo using the tape loop cut off is simply amazing. I never use my Boss Digital Delay anymore except for a doorstop.

I'm following your lead and experimenting with the whole guitar into amp thing. I think I'll try it at the jam Thursday night. My Ragin Cajun speaker is sounding well and truly broken in, the tubes are cooking, and setting my PJ on 8 and fiddling with the volume and tone knobs on my strat is yielding some sweet, right on the edge overdrive.

At least that's how it sounds in the bedroom.

Sumi, here goes:

I got the MagicStomp UB 99A for acoustic guitar about 2 years ago, mainly, for church. It was the best sounding acoustic guitar processor IMHO. Most of the factory presets are crap but when you get into the deep editing mode is where the unit shines. Yamaha have discontinued it along with the magicstomp for electric but has written upgraded firmware so that you can use tones for both acoustic and electric on one magic stomp. I don't have any real experience with the SPX-90 but to my ear the bandwidth on the SPX-90 is a bit limited.

So my pedal rig is the Magicstomp>Marshall Bluesbreaker II>echopark (mostly :whatever: )

Most of the time when using the acoustic its just the Magicstomp on. Well that depends, if I'm using the electric and I need an acoustic simulation quickly, its on the Magicstomp. There is a Magicstomp users group on Yahoo Groups where users post their patches for download, then you can tweak to your hearts content. The guy on the youtube demos above has posted all the patches you just heard.

update from the jam...

I plugged straight into my Pro Jr, had the volume on 7 (out of 12), played rhythm on guitar volume 6, solo on 10. Great sustain, sweet sounding. I had a guy who runs the jam listen for volume and tone, and he told me both were great, though I might want to bring a dirt pedal and have the volume all the way down and the gain up.

So that no pedal at all. Next time I might try it with a very lightly cranked gain on my TS9DX and see what happens.
