Or a guy could get an Agile 3000/3100 with P90's and swap in a bucker in the bridge. I have a virtual hot PAF (Dimarzio) that might work for that.

Humbuckers are generally not a direct swap for P90's due to different dimensions. Might require some body routing. Just a heads up ancake

Yep, but what about Seymour Duncan STK-P1 Stacked P-90 sized humbuckers? That would work out, perhaps.

Go the other way. Start with a guitar with 'buckers and swap in a humbucker-sized P90 like a GFS Mean 90, Tonerider Rebel 90, Duncan Phat Cat or Gibson P94 (in price order).
I had this very setup in my late 70s guitar, a Jacobacci JS2 with the original Benedetti P90ish neck pickup and a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge. A perfect combo into an Ac30 turned up enough to burn for the post-punk/power pop I was playing at the time. The original pickups were standard humbucker sized. Here's a picture of the original setup. Note the period perfect Badass bridge/tailpiece :AOK

I love the look of those except for the headstock. Different strokes for different folks, I know, but they look like a canoe paddle to me for some reason.:thwap I bet they're great guitars for the money.

They weigh only around 7 pounds which is a good thing but it makes me wonder how thick the body is and could this be neck heavy? The guitar looks like it was made in the same factory that makes the Ibanez ART 100, 300, 400s. Killer price though and it looks like a very simple 'get er done' machine. Damn you SVL! :mad :drool:

chambered body I guess. Could be neck heavy. I am going to hold out and build me one out of an Agile one day I think. I agree, an excellent price on a simple rawk machine, but no go right now. I like the idea of a P90/Bucker hybrid, maybe even with a bigsby on it though. I suppose if I slapped a bigsby (which would cost as much as the guitar) on it, it might balance out any neck heaviness. Still, no go this time.

That is a bada$$ looking guitar Mark! One reason I think I would like a P90/bucker combo would be I like the sound of a single in the neck for cleaner stuff, and now I realize that the combo works great for the punky/indy stuff too. Nice!
