If it could be a perfect day off, it would look like this:
The kids let us sleep in until about 8:30 am. We're in a cabin in the mountains somewhere, and there's a knock at the door.
Room service. Complete breakfast with every high calorie, high cholesterol breakfast food you could imagine. Strong coffee and fresh orange juice as well.
The family gets ready, and we all go do something together, then do something for each other individually. Mrs. Kat goes to a spa for some pampering, Older Kid Kat gets to ride go karts, play video games, Baby Kat gets to tumble around at a kiddie gym, and Daddy Kat gets to go to the music store and purchase the amph he's been GASsing for for a while, along with a nice Tele.
We go back to the room and take a nap for about two hours. It's peaceful and quiet.
Then, we all get up and go have a family night out at a good, hole in the wall type restaurant.
Stuffed and tired, we return and put the kids to bed, then Mrs. Kat and I go out on the front porch and have a beer or two and relax, before retiring for the night.
That, my friends, would be the perfect day off for me.
