New MIJ Casino?

I recently bought a used casino and the s/n begins with 0909, and has no letters in it. So I'm guessing it was made in September, 2009. Since it has no identifying letters, am I to assume that Epi has returned to making Casinos in Japan?

Yes & no...Elitist series and John Lennon Revolution Casinos, mostly yes...how much did this Casino set you back? If $500 or less, it's probably Chinese, maybe Korean. Around $ A Grand? better not be Chinese or you'll be kickin' yourself...go to this site and run the full serial number, and you might find out the Casino's origin:

Epiphone changed their serial number scheme in 2008. A 2-digit factory code is embedded within the serial number now. I don't know the scheme, but I'm certain that you can find out more on the Gibson/Epiphone forum site.

MIJ Casino?

I ran the number on the link and it came up not recognizing the s/n which is 09091501321. I have been around the web and tried other s/n searches but nothing comes up. The guitar is absolutely pristine and I got it from a guy who needed cash "right now" for 250 USD, no case. I had a luthier check it out and he found nothing wrong with it. Didn't even need setting up. Since I got it I hardly ever play any of my other guitars.

MIJ Casino is MIC

I did finally find on the gibson/epi forum a post and it sez:
10=year
05=month
15=factorycode, QuingDao, China
6022=production#

So mine is 2009, September, and QuinqDao, China.

QuiangDao is the Gibson China Epiphone factory. You got lucky indeed to snare that for $250 from that desperate soul; you could probably sell it for $350 if you needed to.

That Guitar Dater Project s/n decoder site is often cited on the Gisbson/Epiphone forum as OK for deciphering Epi's made prior to Gibson's revising the s/n scheme to put the factory code within it, when a variety of one or 2 letters preceding the numbers designated the facory.
